Hi, I have been ripping my CD's to iTunes lately and noticed that on songs that are mixed (no gaps between tracks) the songs come out jumbled up towards the mixed part. The songs playback fine on the computer but when you extract the audio it's a different story. I think it might be my CD-ROM drive because I tested the same CD's on another computer with a different drive and they ripped fine first time. I have tried different software, upgraded the firmware on my drive and now I have run out of ideas.

Does anyone know of this problem and how to solve it?

I have no idea but I'll talk out my ass for a minute.
Some things that occur to me are
1) Try a slower ripping speed
2) Look around for an option to set the extraction to digital or analog. I'd try this first.

In the second option, yes, it is your CD-ROM drive. Some drives need to be set for analog extraction to function properly. I'm not 100% sure, but I think when you set the option to analog the CD-ROM drive performs a D/A conversion and then sends it to your computer, as opposed to sending the digital info straight to your hard drive.

Hey, I am trying to figure out how to change it to analog. I know that I can deselect digital audio from the drive properties in Windows XP, however the cable connecting my drive to the sound card is not analog it is a smaller plug for Digital CD so I dont know

However I do know that not all mixed CD's have the problem - I have been testing and the problem is just with this new CD... I think the CD might have copy protection? The reason I was leaning towards my drive having a problem with mixed CD's is because the whole CD ripped fine apart from 2 songs which mix into eachother...

I will look for options but I dont really know what else to do. Thankyou for your help.
