I recorded this with my band about 6 months ago and just mixed it again, to try and up my mixing skills. and hopefully you guys can tell me what im missing, my goal is to get you guys to tell me its ready to be "Mastered" or as i like to call it "Loudified" haha

let me know all you got on it, being 18 and having only so much experience, cant let me mix the way i wish i could

-at the moment i just feel its pretty quite (premastering thing?) and maybe some more low end in the overall track

so where do you "click" to hear the song? After all the pop up windows, I didn't see any choices and I aint gonna d/l anything either. How about lightningmp3.com as a choice?

It wasn't quiet. Thats a good mix, I think, except for the vocal...could come up a scootch. It sounds real good. Real good. And you guys are playing effectively within your skills. Sounds right in-genre...and professional, to me.
Shouldn't need to do much in the master.
Great guitar sound and pan. Marshalls w/ humbucked guits? Creamy-licious.

-hey mixmkr, you have to download the song to listen to it.

-Thanks jeff =D i wasnt really expecting that kind of response, I just feel compared to alot of other peoples mix's mines quieter and on myspace and in the genre we play in, louder is sort of taken as as a standard.
-and you almost got the guitars, both humbucker with Emgs and Line 6 gearbox set to a scooped sort of marshallish sound =D

anything anyone else can say about the track?

My main gripe is the drums. The set sounds poorly tuned and the cymbals are kinda weak. Seems there are no hats or ride in it much at all...what little I do hear is too severely panned and I think its a hat on the left channel in the beginning of the song kinda mushes with the guitar and almost sounds like a guitar cabinet that has a rattle in it. There is also a timing problem or two here and there...and markedly in the outro.....seems like there is an extra snare hit on the fill that shouldn't be there. The guitar sound is quite nice. Good chunky growl there. Don't know if it suits the song's style well but that is more of a personal taste thing. Cheers.
