This is a semi-"live" rehealsalplace recording. No Vox.

I threw in a guitartrack, simultaniously with the drummer. Let the drummer sit out and have a smoke while I recorded the second guitar. The bass was DI:d at home by me same evening, also threw a haphazard mix and hit the sack...

Too much gain??
I only got 4 mics, so the drums got 3, not most accurate, but audible?

How's them riffs after 02:00??:D

Surprisingly sober recording this time around!:p

Jouni, I've tried twice to download your mp3, but after the 5 minute download it's nowhere to be found. Not having that problem with any others. You may want to check it out.

Dude, you know it's death metal, no damn hard rock :D

As far as the track goes, I loved it all. The guitar sounds vast as fuck, and I'll say again - the riff is killer.

I thought the tone was quite muddy and drums sounded abit weak - but I'm sure others will give you a much better feedback on that. As far as I'm concerned that's beside the point - that song rocks. Now just do a semi-studio recording of it :D

Haahaa!

guitar zero- No probs downloading at work.. I'd check where I'd Dl:led the tune. Might be in some girlypicture-folder of yours, not a bad place to be though..:D

Mish- Thanks!.. That stuff isn't what I've used to play usually (melodic metal), I can't stop grinning while playing the latter parts.:D
Yep, I only had 3 mics for drums, and they took serious bleed from guitar.. Did what I could with the muddyness.
This will be semi-studioed when we'll bag a vocalist.

The guitar sounded great. Really full tone there. The drums, unfortunately, were overpowered by said guitars.

Hmmm... Finnish metal. So is the problem finding a vocalist at all or finding one who won't eat the rest of the band :D

Very 'eavy indeed. I'd love to hear the drums really thundering in there, got a good tune in the making. Heaviest tone I've heard in a while.

i would change the snare to something a bit deeper. it kinda sounds crappy when he jumps to cut time and does the rolls. it screams: "i was the guy who loved Helmet WAAAAAY too much" to me.

guitar sounds nasty though.

Cool riffage. Liked the playing and vibe.

I agree with the comments on the drums. The guitars are dwarfing them. I'm not sure if you can compress the drums harder to get them to cut through or not. But my thinking is that if you wanted to do anything with the song, the drums would have to be retracked.

Heard a stick click with the drums at 2:29. Another one at 2:44. A couple smaller ones at other spots. But other than that I generally thought the drummer was cool.

There's a drastic speed up in tempo just before 3:00. I think picking up the tempo is OK and adds energy to the song. I just thought the change was a little too dramatic.

The guitar and bass sounds are definitely usable. I think the guitars have too many lows to them. I'd do a moderate EQ rolloff of them up to 180hz and maybe even higher (e.g., 200hz - 210hz). That'd give the bass some room to do its thing. You might also want to cut some mud out of the guitars with a 3-4db notch somewhere around 300-350hz. They have a great growl to them though.
