Anyone familiar or own one of the guitars made by Rick Kelly? I know he is based out of Carmine Street Guitars in NYC, and has built guitars for and is highly regarded by both Robert Quine (RIP) and Lou Reed (has been using 2 Rick Kelly telecasters on tour for the past several users). What also piques my interest is that they are handmade, use lots of older wood, and are priced similarly to a new American-made Fender. I only saw a few reviews on Harmony Central, so just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them... thx,

Q: Do you own or play any guitars that are handmade by small, individual guitar-builders? —Norman L. Beberman (GuitarNation.com)

A: Generally, no. The only exception is a guitar recently built for me by Rick Kelly of Carmine Street Guitars in NYC. It's based on an early '50s Telecaster and is a truly great-playing, great-sounding guitar. (He has access to a lot of OLD WOOD.) It's got Seymour Duncan Antiquities pickups—the early '50s type. —Robert Quine
