Hello all,
I am considering the purchase of ribbon mic. I currently have none. So, I've been looking at the budget models currently offered.
I've found the Apex 205:

That would be a whole $97 shipped...
There are also the Nady variants out there.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Are there any that are clearly superior down in this price range?
I have no hesitation to replace transformers or attempt to tighten the sagging ribbons that seems to plague these.
Or down a completely different route, would I be better off looking into the less frequently recognized vintage examples that come up on the bay every now and then for $150 or so? EVs mainly...
