Ribbon mics for drum overheads. Which mics would be better those with short ribbons or long ribbons?

I’m considering building a set of ribbon mics for drum overheads. They seem fairly easy to build and there are plenty of kits available. But in my research I can’t find a definitive answer as to whether a mic with a long ribbon or one with a short ribbon would be best for drum overheads? Any advice from real experience is greatly appreciated. Has anyone on this forum built any of these kit DIY microphones?

If for drum over heads then I would go with the Long Ribbon with one caveat - they are darker in tone than the Short - keep that in mind when using them - if you are going to ever going to need the overheads to cut through a mix Short Ribbons are the best answer.
