Okay, im not massively sure of what subject this should come under, please tell me if this is the inappropriate bit for it BUT heres the problem

im running my turntable straight into the 2 line ins on my tascam fw-1804 i mainly use this for listening but every now and again i'll do a bit of cheeky sampling...

i was wondering if there are any RIAA presets for the logic EQ that'll make the vinyls sound how they should, i generrally find far too much top end on them, my understanding is that there is a large eq bias applied when the vinyl is cut and this is normally fixed on the output by a preamp with RIAA EQ spec... Please correct me if im wrong.

Cheers

Sam

basically if you run a turntable into something without RIAA equalization it sounds like complete and total crap.
I have no answer for you on the presets since I don't do the puter music thing.
But I'm a vinyl guy (6000 lp's) and I can flat out say that you HAVE to have RIAA correction applied to that thing to get a decent sound out of it.

Basically they boost the highs and really cut the bass for cutting the laquer and that's how the records are pressed for various reasons ...... a big one being that a lot of bass means wider grooves allowing less time plus styluses have a harder time tracking large excursions.

I'm hope someone will be along soon with a preset for ya'.

yep, they grounded.

I found this

(( vacuumsound )) should really have been easier to find, i don't know why it took me so long...

they have an RIAA plugin which has playback and inverse, which is quite fun for a kind of "vinyl effect" if you use it before compression etc then put the playback one on at the end, theyve also got an ADT plugin which im going to try out... looks fun...

i wasn't particularly looking for anything massively audiophool so im happy with that.

Thanks
sam
