Rhythmtrak 234 Drum Machine

i recently purchased a used rhythmtrak 234 on ebay.

i'm realizing that the patterns/songs are not being saved when I shut the machine's power off for more than 30 seconds or so. It seems to automatically initialize and revert back to factory settings simply by turning the machine on.

does anyone have this same problem with the 234? or do you know how i might fix it?

I don't have this specific machine, but try replacing the battery. My SR-16 was doing this, and that was the problem.
