Are you asking for a complete rundown of software for the entire careers of a variety of artists across multiple genres?
Or are you looking to figure out how one specific sound is achieved?

If the former, good luck with that. If the latter, you should probably post a more specific example.

Denis, I think you gave the anwser yourself. The big boys use the same stuff we have (or want to have:)). Massive is very flexible and is everywhere (from all kinds of edm, dubstep, Rihanna's Diamonds,..), and so is Nexus and Omnispere. Add Sylenth1 to your list (Skrillex,...) and you have everything you need. Mastering is still done on expensive outboard gear in acoustically perfect rooms. That where they make the difference in my opinion.

Hey I Just seen a video on youtube on the Full Sail Uni page. Its a guest session from Phil Tan (The Guy who mixed Rihanna Diamonds)

He runs through every track in the song and shows how he mixed it

May not be your cuppa tea musically but worth a look to see how a professional (Radio Friendly) production or mix looks and sounds

Points that stood out for me:

-The sheer amount of tracks! 3 kick drums, 2 sub kicks .. (I think there was 90 + tracks in Total)

-The main piano in the track was Nexus .. and a couple of synths and possibly the bass was Massive.

Mixing Plug ins:

-He actually didnt do much to alot of tracks that he didnt have problems with

-He used a lot of plugins eq and compression that comes with Pro tools

Hope this helps a little bit. It kind of inspired me after seeing this video, It doesnt seem a million miles away with some hard work and practice.
