I'M BLESSED.......
I figured out how to rewire Reason into Sonar, but it is the recording/playback that I am stuck with.

1. I rewire Reason with Sonar
2. The Reason program pops up so I select the piece I want to record
3. I adjust the tempo to match that in reason and I arm an audio track
4. I hit record and the reason song plays in it's entirety
5. I see that something was recorded on the track
6. When I attempt to play it back I hear NOTHING

What am I missing?

(this is cross-posted in Midi Mania - see my reply there)

I'm quite sure the mistake you are making is that Reason is a midi application only and therefore should be set up as a midi track in Sonar.

Select the reason track in Sonar.(an audio track by the way)
Go to EDIT>BOUNCE TO TRACKS.

This will mix down the reason output into an audio track within Sonar.

Thanks Dbadds
I lost my Sonar manual and the Reason manual doesn't explain it............

I would always track and mix my vocals only in Sonar and then transfer to standalone and intergrate Reason. But now I am trying to do everything in Sonar, although mixing on my standalone is so much realistic.

Thanks again!

It didn't work for me!
You said to select a Reason track correct?
When I bounce, you said it would mixdown to an audio track, correct?
Well I might be doing it wrong, but it mixes down to the Reason track I selected, and it won't play back.
Sorry if I just ain't getting it, but hit me off with a play-by-play.............
Preciate it!

Right.
I'm actually using HS2004XL,not Sonar but they're pretty similar so it should be ok.

Start Sonar and open whatever project you want.
Select INSERT>REWIRE DEVICE>REASON

It should come up with a check box so you can select which tracks to create.

Tick First Synth Output as an option,no need for a midi track.....then click Ok.
This should start Reason and you can select a song of yours to load into it.

In Sonar, you should see a track created that says something like Reason MixL/MixR.....

Make sure you've loaded the song you want into Reason!

SELECT/HIGHLIGHT the track in Sonar that says Reason MixL/MixR.
The track should change colour if it's selected. Not susre if it's the same in Sonar.

Select Edit>Bounce To Tracks

When prompted, select <new track> as the destination for the reason mixdwon.

It should then create a new audio track and mix the reason stuff down to that.

Hope that works,if not....then ya got me!!

I did what you said step by step, but I still don't get anything.......
All of the steps you mentioned appeared in order, so I suppose that HS 2004 and Sonar has basically the same setup. Maybe it's something in my program or perhaps the obvious, operator error. I'll keep trying, but if nothing else I'll go back to my old routine,

Thanks again

Another inquiry, I guess...............
Is there a certain setup I should select in Sonar?
I do all of the above mentioned steps, but what happens is...........When I hit bounce track, it does a quick mixdown..... I select new track (18) or whatever is next in order, but the new track is not created.
Any more suggestions?
