Hi.
Since this is my first post here, I'll probably should introduce myself and my situation a bit. My master plan is build own analog/(digital) home studio, nothing fancy really, just fully functional studio so that I can record my stupid songs
..with somewhat great sounds. Guitars, bass and vocals only, until I find a place where I can do drumming. So I've been playing bass/guitar and been in a band for about 10+ years now. Playing in studios and making records (just playing part) is nothing new to me, but I've never actually learned how everything works. So I don't know anything about actual recording process/gear etc. (only bits and pieces) Noobie needs help
..so a little while ago I bought this analog Brit desk, Studiomaster 16 into 4, got it pretty decent price. This particular desk doesn't have direct outs(dont have a clue what their for anyway. This could be a problem am I right? or atleast that doesn't help me) I've heard that this mixer is really noisy and all that, and I'll probably replace it with soundcraft 200b/400b or something like that someday, but unfortunately that's not an option right now, so i have to deal with it. Very cool looking desk though, thats why I bought it in first place
Couple weeks ago I bought my first reel to reel machine 4-track Revox A77 (7½ inch) Got it dirt cheap. Not sure if it is fully functional. Seems to be in a good condition, but not sure bout those rec heads (play heads are fine)
#1 My first problem is how do I hook up this setup? If somebody could clarify me on this I would be very happy dude! My monitoring system is just a headphones right now, but as soon as I get more dough I'll buy real monitors. If and when I got my monitors can I plug it which ever I want mixer/Revox does it matter?
#2 I've got this cheap shure c606 dynamic mic. Do I need preamp with that or something?
For starters I only need this setup to record bass and guitar tracks, one track at a time.
Here's few Studiomaster/Revox back panel pics etc.

If you found some time to help me THANK YOU SO MUCH ..Any help is welcome!!
