New songs from my studio

Hi. Here are some songs that I recorded in my studio with a guy named Toby. Any relevant comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I listened to beheresoon and I liked it. Interesting vocal. Kind of a male Alanis thing going on. My only criticism would be I think the strings should be bigger sounding than they are.

Nice work. I like it.

uh huh

Well the strings were done using a mellotron. They're not supposed to sound big but I do think they should be louder in the mix - but that's not what the guy wanted and he was paying!

There are several things that I would change if I was in complete control - I'm curious to see if you people point out the things I'm thinking of.

People, please review these little songs.... :(

Uh, this guy's voice is silly for what he is singing. Sorry, first impressions.

The lyrics are trite-posing-as-deep and there's not much to the "mix" at all. One guitar and vocals...sounds fine in that regard.

Not a fan.

Yes

You're absolutely right about it trying to seem meaningful.

However, I'm actually pretty proud of the recordings.

Thanks for your feedback.

Listened to Be Here Soon. I like the song, voice and rhythm guitar. Rhythmically tight and in tune. Nicely recorded.

What I'd change:
I think the strings don't fit the style of the song because the song sounds passionate and genuine and the strings sound too fake to match that. And I'd leave out the fingerpicked guitar intro and ending, since it sounds like a loop to me and I think loops give the same fakey effect. Without the strings, I'm imagining the guitar sounding wider and bigger, and maybe a nice tight elec bass and a second acoustic doing some fills.

Nice job.

Tim
