Hey, my friend and I recently have been working and recording some songs which we just recently posted on a website. I was wondering if some of you could give me some feedback (please more than just a that's good, or that's bad) and let me know what you think. Don't be afraid to be honest and if you could tell me what you think needs to be improved, what's good, what's not,
and so on, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here's the site http://www.myspace.com/mjpawn

Here is the basics of what we used to record so you know what we're working with.

Fostex MR-8 (tracks recorded on here then sent to computer through USB, all editing done on computer)

(mic used for this amp was EV condensor)Crate Vintage Club VC5212B amp - lefty Kramer Focus guitar with Lace Sensor Pickups (Boss DS-2 used for this amp) (Digitech RP100 was used, only on 'This Town')

(used an XLR cable to go straight into the recorder)Line 6 Flextone II Combo 2 12's - Paul Reed Smith guitar (its not my guitar but its a very nice guitar, with 2 humbuckers)

Johnson JG-624 lefty acoustic
Yamaha Acoustic Electric Guitar(both of these acoustics were mic'ed with the EV condensor mic)

Fender Squire Bass

Shure SM58 for vocals

Drums were mic'ed with 2 mics, the Shure SM58 for cymbals and toms, while the EV mic was used for the bass drum) I know this is a very ghetto setup for drums but it was the best we could do and still sounded alright (but not great or anything).

The drum set is fairly good set, I'm not sure what brand since I do'nt play drums. Anyway thats the equipment so thats why the sound quality is not the greatest.

By the way on the computer editing we used N-Track and Cool Edit.

The world

The playing is not tight, the recording is bad and the vocal is horribly out of tune everywhere and in no particular direction.

Problems and Love

The drums and guitar are not in any real grove, they lose each other everywhere and the whistling is silly for the song.

Lots of things to improve!
