Hello,

I have a song, was wondering if you could listen and help with improvements.

Some instruments are done in one take but its mainly a song to get me going in the magical mystereous world of recording...

I'm interested in tone from instruments as well as the mix

thanks in advance...

I'm definitely not in the place to comment on this because I can't monitor through anything better than crappy headphones right now. I love the sound of the drums though, very tight. Bass drum and bass are backing each other nicely, though the bass is lacking some serious low end from my point of view. I feel like the vox could actually be more clean. Delay is cool, but Shouldn't be overdone. Maybe I'm wrong on that. Guitars are pretty fitting, but nothing is really face smashingly tight but the drums. Cool effects on guitar during that solo, thats good use of delay (especially with those runs)

Can't really comment more.

Wow, you've got a really nice sound going there. Only thing I can really say is that _maybe_ the snare is just a tad loud. I wouldn't bring it down much though, because I can tell if you did, then you would have problems hearing it in certain parts. However, sometimes the snare is out there by itself dominating the mix. Also, there is one part about 3/4 of the way through the song where there are some quarter-note tom hits. It sounds a little strange to me. Some of it is coming from the compression I believe. It gets loud and there is very little reverb to back up the attack on the toms, so I would try adding a touch of reverb before it gets to the compressor if that's at all possible.

the vocals are too low. nice drums. quite a detached mix. I dont feel a performance - more like several recorded parts added together.

It also sounds like it is left channel biased

cheers guys for the input, much appreciated...

ill work on some improvements
