Reversed Phase . What is it?

Can someone tell me about it? I am interested in the method of micing an amp both front and back, and have heard it stated that you need to reverse the phase on one of the mics. Why? What happens if you do not? And how do you actually reverse the phase?

You cannot reverse the phase. You can only reverse the polarity. There was a very recent thread which discussed your exact question.

You are not alone in making this mistake, so don't feel bad. But it has been discussed to death, so do a search for "polarity" because I'm retiring from explaining the difference.
