Does anyone know the steps to removing the reverb from windows media player? Better yet what is a better XP supported media player other than i tunes that opens quickly and plays wav files with zero embellishments? any help would be appreciated!

Where exactly is the reverb coming from ?
Is it in the original recording ?
Does it happen on all WAV files ?

Check the settings for your soundcard.
My SB has settings for reverb, chorus, etc and you can un-check them and thus DRY the sound.

If the reverb was added during the recording, you're SOL

it is additional reverb from only windows media player. i will check the sound card settings, maybe thats the issue, but i doubt it.

it happens on all files. i recorded dry vocals bounce and then listen back it has verb on it.

You might have the SRS WOW Effect on. (View>Enhancements>SRS WOW)
Or some other plugin. (Tools>Plugins)
