This song is not about dirty sex ... yeah, that's what I meant to say.

Any/all comments warmly appreciated.

Best,

Nice keys. Interesting tune - nice and mellow. I like it. Nothing jumps out at me.

Thanks - this one was done with the intent of keeping things simple and straightforward. I caught a laid back vibe from it and followed that muse.

Very nice. I struggled to find something to suggest to make it better. But I couldn't. Simple-ish mix. But I thought it was great.

Thanks Trip! Did you notice how light the touch on the compression is? This wasn't a difficult mix to control, but outside of the vocal, I've got about next to nothing on it. I've really started to back off on things, and it's amazing how much air/space gets opened up in the process.

You got some rap bass in there. :D

I think the mix is pretty good. Maybe the vox are a little too on top for such a subdued song. I only have a few nits:

For one, I know you sing pretty damn good, but some of these vocal lines are over the top and off pitch a little. Like that second "things I should have done". I dunno. It seems to jump out too much and it sounds strained. I suck at singing and am in no way qualified to tell you how to do it, but I've heard better from you so I'm mentioning it.

Secondly, and I can't pinpoint it exactly, but either the timing is sketchy on the guitar picking, or the delay you've chosen doesn't jive with the tempo. To me, it sounds disjointed a lot of the time, and I'm thinking it's either the delay or some wongo picking.

The rest sounds good. I'm glad you're backing down on the compression, but this is a pretty sparse song. Try it on one of your busier, fuller mixes.

It's the delay -- and it is very subtle, G ... but it's ever so slightly off tempo. I was wondering if anyone was going to pick it up, so thanks for the mention of it. I'll look at the vocal closer ... it's likely one of those, "Listened to it so many times, I'm hearing wrong as right." times -- like when the skip of the needle became part of the song moments.

Thanks for the help, bud! Appreciated.
