Retro gear guitars??

Someone is selling a piece like this on a local market, to highest bidder.
Harmony central had 3 reviews, prices around 400-600, but no-one seems to know WHERE or when these are built..

Anyone got info on these???

The amount & style of inlay remind me of the guitars made in china that are on ebay quite a lot.
they usually look from very pretty to way overdone - this one is more the former.
I've no idea of the quality of it as a guitar.
