God, I'm pissed!

I just won a Neumann TLM103 capsule online and it's broken! The guy is telling me that he knows it works fine, so obviously it's now going to become my problem. I have installed it in two mics and it has the same symptoms. The bass is there and then fades in and out. If I hold it with the diaphragm pointing down, it works. Turn it facing up, the bass is gone.

Does anyone know someone who can re-skin this thing at a decent price? I don't want to end up paying a huge amount knowing that I could have spent the same amount for a full K87 capsule.

I asked him about redoing a Sony C37 capsule, which is also single sided and he quoted $300. I'm really hoping to do it for less than that or I'll shoot myself for not just buying a U87 capsule.

BTW, did your mics arrive yet?

yeah-- i got them friday, but went out of town, so i just really opened the box late last night
i'll get a chance to really try them out tomorrow night

dispute that shit man, dont take that crap.

he knows exactly whats up... dispute thru paypal, if not, cancel credit payment and send that POS back.

why start with a broken piece?? its a cursed project, its downhill from there. dont take that crap from ebay scammers.
