Requesting help locating a John Hardy M1 Personal Mic Preamp...

Hello,

I'm hoping this is the proper spot for this posting.

We have a series of ongoing voiceover projects involving several flights per day and the related need to pack super efficiently and very light ('carryon' only). Our preamp--in addition to being compact enough for those space-related demands and a premier travel performer--must also have the ability, at the end of the travel day when brought to a superbly treated/soundproofed pro studio, to provide the highest-quality, 'clean-but-not-sterile' VO results. We're looking for the best single-channel preamp for that odd blend of opposing needs: small and fine for travel and also totally great later in the studio with our travel/studio mic (TLM 49).

We've used the compact John Hardy M-1 Personal Mic Pre on a single project with those particular, diverse demands and it suited our needs, voices and mic perfectly.

However, we've spoken to John Hardy, who says he won't be producing more of these preamps in the foreseeable future; if anyone might know of an available unit (new or used in fine condition), we'd be very grateful to hear of it.

Thanks very much for any help/insight you may be able to provide in the pre's location or regarding our needs in general.

Sincerely,
Bob

There's one on eBay right now.

Thanks for the reply but I think the eBay unit is either the John Hardy Twin Servo or the full-sized M-1 (vs the "M-1 Personal Mic Pre" which is about half the size).

Thanks, though!
