Lost my LE in an HD crash. (and all the free plugins that I'd downloaded over two years) Can't find my LE disc, so I guess it's time to upgrade. I have a lot of projects on my backup drive that I still need.
I'm concerned that my 1.7 Ghz laptop isn't going to be able to handle any of the new 5/studio/essential DAWs since they spec a 2.0 minimum.
I never really ran CPU intensive stuff on LE- never had a crash or slowdown in the two years that I used it. Anyone have any info on the new cubase on an under-spec'd compter?
So that's one of my concerns. The other is in making the choice between the three levels that they offer. Seems like the only thing that I would really use in 5 would be the convolution reverb, but then I never really wound up using the free downloaded convolution reverbs that I had downloaded.
I would have fun playing with the loop and beat making stuff, but it will be a long time before I will want to branch out into anything beyond recording non-digital stuff. All my keyboards are analog or acoustic.
Or... does anyone have an old copy of LE? Was there a driver for the firepod that I need too? I'd rather not have to shell out for a new DAW, and LE suited my needs fine...
