alright i hate to be repetitive, but ive been searching through the forum and i have tried a few things and i still cant figure it out.

i am using SONAR 4, and i am trying to replace the kick track with a sample. I have done the timing extract part, and i do not know where to go from there. i read that you then put it in a midi track. i have tried pasting it into the midi track but nothing shows up. and then once i have done that how do i go about picking the sample i want to use?

Thanks for any help.

You can't paste a sample into a MIDI track. You have to past it in an audio track at the same moment as it occurs in the MIDI track.

There is a tool called DrumAGog that replaces MIDI drum parts with sampled ones. Never used it myself. Costs some $$, though.

What I use now is this KT Drum Trigger thing, and it is basically a free version of Drumagog; it takes the audio hits at a certain threshold, and then creates MIDI notes at each hit, even with velocity if needs be. Then you can use that MIDI track with a MIDI drum machine. Its not as good as drumagog, but it does ok, especially for being free. BTW, the KT Drum Trigger thing is on kver-vst.com

Anyway....hope that I helped. :)

Or you have to get a virtual sampler to play the kick sample.
