Replacement Cab speakers..

I have a sovtek 4x12 cabinet and I want to replace the speakers with something that can better handle lower frequencies. I am running a Ampeg Vl-1002 100 watt head. Any suggestions? I don't even know where to start...

Try some 100 watt Celestions........I know it seems like a pat answer,but the thump of those speakers in a cab sound great.The old Marshall cabs had 25 to 50 watt speakers that
broke up easily.The 100 watters seem to take it pretty well.
