Hello folks. I'm fairly new to all this stuff, and I finally learned how to repeat a riff on my mini studio earlier today and play over it. The only problem, is that I am unable to record the second guitar part with the riff, which is greatly needed. Is there anyway I can make a 10 second guitar riff repeat AND get recorded with the other part? I've checked out the manual I got with the studio, but it has no tips for me other than the obvious "you cannot record when using the repeat interval" or whatever. I really don't want to have to play the same five notes over and over for five minutes.

I've also got another question, how would one change the repeating riff part way through the song? Like, I have the first riff repeat for a minute, then when the lead changes, the repeating riff also changes. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated :D

It sounds like you have used the "Repeat" function - which basically plays the same section over and over. Try and Copy & Paste the first riff as you need (Say 8 times) You should be able to just record onto another track and then copy and paste the second guitar part as you did the first.

It is much easier to do this if you have a tempo map in place - or some sort of timing (such as a drum machine)

To be honest, I would often play the whole song and only cut/copy & paste over any major mistakes (or use the punch in function) - if your not perfect with you In/Out points you can get unwanted clicks and pops.

The repeat function is good for playing a section of a song over and over whilst rehearsing another part over it, such as hearing the rhythm and practicing the solo.
