Ok, I was just wondering, What the hell is rep power and how do you earn them? i got my first rep power today =] not bad, only 50,000 more to catch up to most people lol.

No it counts down from 5 million your at the top
Rep is given by people that you help out and as a thank you they'll give you rep.....so keep helping.

Don't stare at the eye.
You give rep to a member for a post by clicking on the little scales-of-justice thingy in the upper right hand corner of the post. And how much you give depends on how much you have--I think it's like 1%. So if you had a million rep points and gave someone rep, they'd get 10,000.
And by the way, while negative rep (shows in red) can be a good way to tell if someone's really off base or pissed folks off, positive rep is pretty meaningless.
A billion rep points and $4.00 will get you a cup of coffee and that's about it.
