about vocal recording

you can use m audio, there is you can find switch phantom power (48v) to activate your mic condenser. Phantom power used only for condenser mic not dynamic mic.....
 
Read the reviews and got convinced to buy one. Just bought one (Scarlett 2i2) for 195 USD. I'll post update once I get time to test it. Thanks again for all the help.
 
I just realized that "Rode Nt1a" sort of spells "RODENTIA".

I know that's not very helpful. . .:facepalm:, but I do have two Nt1a's that I use for on-site recording, and I'm really happy with their response. And also that they're reasonably travel-worthy, since I've become a pretty crappy roadie. . .
