Hey guys,
I'm using Cakewalk Sonar 6...I love it so far, BUT there's one huge issue. Whenever I render a track (it happens both when mixing down to mp3 and sometimes with the 'freeze' function) it adds digital pops that aren't there on the original tracks. It tends to happen more when rendering a whole track to mp3, but my guess is becuase this process takes longer and is thus more suseptible to the glitch.

If I re-render, it happens in different places each time, and if I give it enough tries, it makes it through with no pops, but that should happen every time!

I've tried disabling several of the background processes that I think could be causing it, but it still is happening. Also, I'm running Vista.

Any thoughts on what this could be and what I could do to fix it? Anyone else see this problem?

Thanks!

try slapping a limiter on the main bus. when you export to mp3 are you going from 24 bit down to 16 bit and if so are you using dither?

doesn't really explain why it would be happening in different spots but lets start at the beginning and see what happens.

It's a very common resource issue. Either your CPU or your disk can't keep up with what you're doing. One (or more) of your effects is too much for your computer to handle. Freezing all tracks with their effects helps. If you're using an effects bus that will also be an issue.
