is there a way to rename a project? if i just save as a new name, it copies all the waves, ,which takes up space. I have a bunch of projects with the name "demo#" but now they have real names, so i want to rename them to the correct name.
and i just said name about 10 times....oh well.

I didnt know I needed to ask the same question but I guess I do, maybe just a tad differently. It looks like takes are written all over the place in bundle saves. I`ll sit this one out with you and maybe we`ll both learn something here.

I just went into my windows explorer, pulled up my bundle file and renamed it with no problem. The reason I took that chance is 'cause usually if you do something like that the computer will let you know if your going to loose info or not. I hope that's the answer that you guys were looking for!

The first question is whether they are bundle files (.bun or .cwb) or project files (.wrk or .cwp).

From your description Voodoo-man, it sounds like you are working with project files. In that case, you can do a "save as" and give it a new name. At that point Sonar will copy all the audio as you indicated. After that, close Sonar, delete the original file using Windows Explorer and empty the recycle bin. Then reopen Sonar and use the Clean Audio tool. It will get rid of the copies of your audio files. (Remember you must empty the recycle bin, otherwise Sonar will still see the old file as a valid file.)

If your files are bundle files, you should be able to just rename them directly in Windows Explorer as cudmasters told you. The reason for the difference, is that the audio is actually a part of the bundle file. There is no audio in a project file (just pointers to where the audio is located).

ok, thanks alot. heres another question though:
should i start saving songs as bundles, instead of projects? will saving them as bundles have any negetive effect?

oh yeah, and also: if i do what you said to rename the files, all the information about when i first created the project will be all changed to when I saved it as the new name, right? id like to be able to keep the original information, if its possible.

Wheeow, thanks goodnes for that answer dachay2tnr
, because knowing me I would have figured that i could have done that to mine and I would have ended up loosing my songs!!!

To your answer about the bundle files. The bundle file was created if you want to move your project to another computer. In my case I didn't have any more room on my hard drive so I had to save all of my songs to a disk and then delete the songs. I ended up freeing 15 gigs of space. I really should get so more gigs in my computer because if you load a song up as a bundle file weather it is stored on your computer or not, it will take forever!!! I hate the fact that I had to do that but I didn't have a choice.
I don't hear a difference in the music, just a pain in the butt, very time consunimg!!! Saving takes just as long!!!

And the second part of your question is Yes, same thing, just different name. But it's like dachay2tnr said, have it open and then save it, don't rename it. Bundle is o.k.
