I have an issue with some clicks and pops that seem to be in the recorded sound file?

I am using Reaper, and when I zoom in on the wave to see if i can manipulate the offending click/pop there is nothing there? Or appears to be nothing there. Sometimes with Reaper if you move the time bar around and start playback from a new time marker this will cure some of the clicks and pops but i am positive that these buggers are recorded. It doesn't matter where i start my play back from they always seem to be there. I have changed the request block size as mentioned in the Reaper manual but it doesn't seem to fix anything.

The simplest (yet most time consuming) answer would be to re-track or punch in or something?

Wondering if reaper has a plugin or if there is a gratis plug in any wheres that covers this annoyance?

If you've got a noise in your original source file, there's really no way to get rid of it. Retracking/punching in is probably the best solution.

That, and investigating what's going on in your recording chain that's adding these noises.

If you can't see it in the wave form it's not on the recorded track (assuming it is happening when there is no other sound on the track), it's an artifact that is coming from your system on playback - check your system resources.

Bummer. This will be a tricky punch-in kind of dub thing. They are trailing out ringing chords of my guitars at the very end of the song. I half guessed that was going to be the answer. Just thought I'd double check. Thanks guys.

For the sake of clarity, when you say "there's nothing there" do you mean there's no obvious glitch on the waveform or that there's a momentary gap of silence?
