Hi,
Just a question on stereo micing of a full band. My plan is getting a used MP20 for around 3 bills, some new Studio Projects C4s, and to run those straight into a Fostex c300 CD burner to record live band stuff. Later maybe dump to a 16-track for possible overdubs.
Question: How do you like the MP20/C4 combo for live micing? Also, will it suck to record straight to the CD burner? (don't know much about A/D converters) Should I use gentle compression or limiting in the chain? Finally, in used MP20s, anyone know what year they changed from the Jensen transformers? I'd like to get the old ones if possible.
