Remote control for VF16/VF160

Does anyone use a remote controller to start/stop their VF16 ?

I want to use it live on stage, and need a pedal controller to start & stop playback - but I'm told that the Fostex footswitch can only be used to punch in recording, not to set playback running?

Is this right, & if so, does anyone know of a MIDI foot controller which can transmit MIDI Machine Control data to start/stop the VF?

The VF-16 or 160 is not remore compatible. They don't even make one. I've been told you can que a long intro via midi, but it doesn't sound very practical & I haven't tried it.

I'm going by the review in Sound on Sound -

"However, [the VF16] can generate MIDI clock with Song Position Pointers and MIDI Time Code, for synchronising sequencers, and can also respond to MIDI Machine Control for remote control of transport functions."

If it can receive MIDI Machine Control, then what I need is a MIDI foot controller that's fully programmable, so I can send an MMC "Play" message.

I've been told that the new Behringer FCB1010 can send MMC data - but I'm not sure. I hope so, cos it only costs about 90 pounds (UK).
