Rock Steady
Sorry I been away for a while. Time has been creased and folded here at my place, as well as the wifey and I gettin past a nasty cold bug.

some folks wanted to hear the whole thing and it needed some cleaning up as well. Its in the mail for some collab work now that may turn out very interesting. This is not anything fancy just a "down to basics" rythym track.

Sounds absolutely great and the recording is terrific. You had my head bobbin' around 2:10 when the bass starts to walk down.

I have a gripe with long instrumentals though, I don't think any should go over 3:00, but that's just me...

lynx, I appreciate the listen and the comments. This is just a real simple basic rythym track for some guys to work on top of. I tried to keep it real clean so they have something steady and room to work. Im`sure it will become more interesting after it makes it through 4 states.

Do you take requests? :D

1) Can I get one pass through without the keys?

2) Can we try the mda-piano VSTi? www.mda-vst.com/ That was what I was doing my Ramsey lines with. The first patch (also named mda-piano).

3) How about some drum turnarounds? Bass fillls?

It's a great groove, Ken, just a little thick. If we had some more room, we could do more with the dynamics, make it a little more organic...

sure I take all requests. Just write them on the back of any standard ol' $20 bill..

I`ll get you the tracks without the keys, and maybe put a twist on the drums a little, and lean on the bass some more for the version we're working.:D

I have no funk in me. You probably already know this, though.

Man, that bass sounds so fat and clean, ... is that even a real bass? I mean, I know you play one, lol...but that sounds almost TOO perfect.

Have fun with this...I wish I had a funky bone in my body, lol.

You got it, just haven`t had it sweated out of you yet! :)
thats keyboard with a sample of a jazz bass I like. I`m lazy, I would have had to get up and plug the real bass in. :)

I CAN'T HEAR THE ORGAN.

Dude, it sounds very cool. But wayyyyyy tooooo lowww.

Hey Toki,
Funky sounds man!:D

Cool vibe,I dig the panning organ, great Leslie tone.
Bass riff is sweet.

The only thing that stood out to me was, mabey a little too much verb on the snare, and it needs to be a little looser.
JMHOP.

Nice clean recording.
Great start,
Pete

Hey Ken - This sounds really good. That's a great groove you got going there. I love the organ sound. It's probably sitting just right if there is some sort of lead activity going on in the song...but I'm with some others on this one. As it sits now, I would love to hear it cranked :D.

That bass sounds pretty damn good to me. I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten that good of a sound on a bass line (and I don't own a bass) on my....erm.....one song I've tried to get one on so far :D.

Nice work man. Can't wait to hear the end product. Sounds like a great foundation. :)
