regarding the boss metal zone..

Ive been using a metalzone for quite some time and after a short a mount of time i started to hate it. Is there any way i can improve the distortion and crunch of this pedal. I dont have a tube amp because those take precisely what i dont have to get...money. Any suggestion on improving the sound or even other pedal suggestions are helpful. Also... what are some good tube pedals for my type of gerne(thrash_freak87). Ive been looking into getting one for a while but never played through one before.

i loved...and still do...my metalzone on small crap ass amps...makes em sound nice.But i do agree..if using it on a 1/2 stack or bigger....it tends to get ugly sounding.

hard to controol, i still use mine occasionally but more as an effect.

try useing less distortion.

Are you recording direct through the pedal or going through an amp? Trying to record it direct will sound like ass, as the pedal is designed to be driving a speaker, even if it's just in a cheap practice amp.
