Reel-to-reel to CD

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes. I want to convert my old reel-to-reel tapes to CD (via Cakewalk or n-track). I don't have a "line out" from my stereo receiver to connect to my mixer (or directly into my Delta 1010). So the question is: how do I get the reel signal into my (PC) recording software? The reel has a line i input and a line out but I thought I had to go through my receiver as a source of power to drive it.

No, just plug it into a line in on your soundcard and adjust levels with the software mixer. It should work fine.
