How do you integrate reel to reel recorders into your daw?
For example, could I use any standard reel to reel recorder? Or do they need specific inputs / outputs etc....

If someone could give me a brief explanation that would be much appreciated.
I'm using a Behringer UAC audio interface, with Logic Pro on my macbook.

Why do you want to do this? If you want to get a hint of "tape sound" on a few tracks or the mix, a tape-sim plug-in makes much more sense.

Tape sim plugins are great though they are not like the real thing. Just look at Clasp. If plugins worked as well as tape, no one would buy clasp, ever.

Clasp is a good way to combine tape and your DAW though it is very expensive. The cheap way is using delay plugins to remove the tape delay and then you can incorporate it into your setup.

The best way is to record through the tape machine immediately onto your daw. Best of both worlds.
