There are a few people on this board that use FL studio.I'm starting a thread to get some answers for the questions we all ask.No one's an expert but I know that one thing we do on this board is help each other.So ask away in here.
 
When are the best times to use effects and how cuz from my short experience they suk. they either make my track clip or make crazy wavy sounds
 
I use different effects depending on what I'm trying to do.I use reverb on some sounds to make them sound fuller and more realistic.I use delay to add somethin more to the beat.The echoing effect sounds good in the right situation.Those are the main and only effects that I really use.Experiment some more and try everything.Anyone have more comments.
 
thanx! but i have a problem when im trying to add reverb. somehow it turns my entire track into a echo hall. even after i only assign reverb to one channel. whats up wit dat?
 
those are pretty much the same way i use effects on fl but i do add compression to my percussions and vocals, that problem wit the reverb on everything is new to me i never had it do that to me before but i did hear of something similar....If u didn't buy fl and u downloaded it and cracked it then there is an 80% chance that things will not work properly (so i read on another forum) idk how to fix that man
 
I mess wit dat joint man, but Im saying my reverb works but not 4 a single instrument at a time. You feel me?

I have a great question.... Where do I start? I am just learning about FL Studio and Cool Edit. I feel like I have been out of the loop, but I feel like I have the talent to use these tools if I just knew how!!! It's kind of like being somewhere for the first time, I just need some guidance. Anyone out there want to take on an apprentice?
 
VSTI for better effects and sounds.

TIP: Do a search for VST for free effects and synths.Download and insert .dll file in the \plugins\VST folder.In the program select Channels>ADD ONE>more(should be at the top of the page.>press Select (at the bottom). New plugins should show up in red.Check the box next to each new vst. The new vst should be selectable when you go back to Channels. Heres a link to a site http://www.kvraudio.com
 
For a brand newbie starting to use fl the best thing i can say is when u start your track after u picked out wut instruments u wanna use in the top left corner of the sequencer there is a box wit 2 lines in it push it up to the number 8 so your beat loops at 8 bars doing this allows you to be able to make simple change ups to ur drums etc. and will take that thought of "it sounds the same over and over again" outta ur head
 
Another good way to get sounds is to look for soundfonts.Depending on your version of FL you should have a Fruity Soundfont Player.Search for soundfonts on the net.Load them up then enjoy.Here's alink to start>Soundfonts
 
anyone know how to use a midi keyboard not as a controller for the sounds that are there but to use and record your sounds from your keyboard on fl?
