I want too create an audio cd that will work on any music player like a professional cd from shops.

im thinking of acquiring cd architect, am I on the write lines. I have mastered my music using ozone 5 and I am burning audio files to the CD, any advice is greatly appreciated. I hate the idea of creating music nad passing it too friends and it does not work.

Also is it worth while buying an external compressor like a joe meek for vocals, or am I alright wit the ones provided by waves, protools, and ozone 5 any thoughts.

Is it better to have the hardware or the software what are your thoughts good peeps.

Any software that burns audio cds will make a cd playable in MOST players - MOST because some players will not play CD-Rs (usually older CD players). Only Replicated CDs (not duplicated) will play on some players.

As to the compressor question - you use the tools to give you the sound you want, whether it be hardware of software.

Thanks for that my music is here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSKaEJ8sEgBenaEo_XxJ1IQ

Ill check yours out.

Im looking for the best sound possible, or too improve you know mics, effects, etc. Do you think its better to record analogue and then transfer to digital. I understand quality is a personal thing but I want a modern fresh exciting sound and want to push the envelope if possible without getting into the whole loudness wars nonsense. thanks for the response Mike. Analog vs digital is whole 'nother neverending argument. Again, what YOU want your sound to be like is the answer.

If you're looking for feedback on your mixes, post them in the MP3 Mixing Clinic section of these forums, be sure and listen to others and comment on them - listening and seeing what others recommend is a valuable learning technique.

CD Architect will burn Redbook CD's for you. I don't think it uses VST plugs (only DirectX, I think), so you will need to apply whatever VST plugs your songs need in a different program.

Wavelab Elements will burn redbook CD's, too and it allows you to use VST plugs on each individual song or the master bus. They used to have a bad problem with cd burner drivers, but looks like that issue has been finally laid to rest with WLE8.

A "modern, fresh sound" is not the result of analog or digital, but rather your skills at performing, recording and mixing. It takes a lot of learning and practicing to get something halfway decent. Most of us here are still learning that little fact. :D
