Force of Naked
The Mesa Boogie Recto Standard 4x12 cabinet has the low-end heavy sound I'm looking for to use for practices and gigging. I have tried the Marshall 1960a and 1960b cabs (75-watt drivers), and have found them to have way too much midrange for my taste.

Are there any other cabs out there that anyone could suggest I try out to get a similar bang for a few less bucks?

Thanks!

Try out a crate 4 12 with 50 watt celestions. Alittle warmer in the low end compared to the 75 watt 1960 marshalls.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be sure check 'em out ASAP.

Does anyone know what plays the more important role (if one of them plays more of a role than the other): if it is the size of the cabinet or the quality/type of speaker? Actually, never mind ...of course it is the interaction of the cabinet size *and* the speakers used.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please post 'em!

Thanks!

Isn't it possible to dial in the rectifier to get the tambre's you are looking for? I noticed I have considerable control over that huge bass response on my rig, which is Triple/matching cab.
