Ok . First of all .. I want to buy a Boss GT-6 Effects processor .. it got a " Digital Out S/pdif ..
I Want to know if i will be ok with a SB Audigy 2 Platinum pro .. or a " Recording Interface " Firewire / or USB ." like the " MAudio Firewire 410 Mobile Recording Interface" ( http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--MDOFW410 )

I got a Korg PXR4 digital studio but .. im loosing quality with the Smart media card ( mp2 )

I Want to record directly to my computer .. and do Multiple tracks with my guitar.. etc..

Thanx!! - Steve

What are the rest of your system specs? What software do you plan to use?

doesn't the Audigy 2 only have a digital out, no in. And dont get a usb interface, no reason to chance it with all the pci and firewire interfaces out there as an option.

The Audigy 2 Platinum does have digital ins from the front panel. Haven't had much luck with them myself though. I upgraded to a FW410 and I think the sound is much better, but everything I do is pretty much analog on the way in.
As for the Boss unit chances are they use some pretty cheap A/D converters so the sound will probably suffer. Not big on their multi-units. I use a PODxt myself and like the line outs better than anything else I've tried.
Just my 2 cents but I'd stay away from using guit proccesors digital outs. Most likely not their best feature.

o i missed the platinum pro part. yeh i like the analog outs of the pod too. I recorded with a pod today and almost couldn't tell a difference between the pod-->amp-->mic setup, and direct out of the pod.kinda freaky actually.
