Ok dudes, i need your help.

i want a cd on my computer, top quality. mic, guitar, bass and drum machine. what external equipment will i need, including adapters and whatnot, and what other advice might you have

i also downloaded cubase, cakewalk, acid pro and soundforge. if anyone is familiar with these, which is the best choice to make for a top quality recording?

Any of those programs will work well, really. They are all roughly equivalent, to the best of my knowledge, and each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

A recent star, though, is Cubase SX. I haven't tried Sonar 2.0 so I don't know how they compare, but man am I impressed with Cubase SX. One hell of a slick program.

If you haven't already, you should post the question about what other equipment you need in the Newbie forum. It will get a LOT more traffic there and you are more likely to get a variety of answers.

Take care,
Chris

Cubase SX is excellent.......... of course, there is complete documentation included on the installation CD -- it's very detailed and informative, so there's little point in trying to summarize it here............
