Let me explain what I am trying to achieve.
I have the 2015 iMac Desktop computer - It does not have an Audio In socket like its predecessors.
My current mixer is an Alto L12 that simply has analog out that I used to connect to my old iMac via the Audio In socket.
The L12 outputs all 12 channels individually to that input on the Mac.
I have connected to the various inputs 8 input channels on the L12 the following:
1. Mike 1
2. Mike 2
3. Record Player Deck
4. Spare
5. Mini Disc Player
6. CD Player 1
7. CD Player 2
8. Tape Player
I do not use the L12 as a mixer, I just use it to record from each channel to the iMac via the Adobe Audition software.
This arrangement has worked well for the past 15 years or so.
Now, the audio input has been discontinued so my mixer cannot be connected to the iMac. I have tried various interfaces that purport to allow USB connection but I have not been successful. I simply want to replicate the procedure I have outlined above and thought that the updated Alto Live 1202 would do the trick but, I am told that it will only output 2 channels to USB so that won’k work for me since I need to output all channels to USB.
I am sorry for the long explanation and I hope that I haven’t confused you.
Can you make any suggestions please.
