I've been having troubles recording from my computer for a long time now, when I go into my computers audio properties, and select advanced, and use the "Wav/Mp3" recording method, and try to record stuff using Cool Edit Pro, it's extremely quiet about 4x quiet that it normally use to be, and my microphone is working completly fine, what's going on, and how do i fix it? 
also, my sound device im using is: SB Live! Audio [E800]
and i'm afraid to update it, because last time I tried, I screwed up, and it screwed up, and didn't play anything.
