Ok this may be the stupidest question ever asked on these boards but what what it's worth i'm a curious noob and don't know any better;
the other day i was recording a guy (acoustic guitar+vocals) on a tascam 4 track and noticed how nice it sounds compared to digital stuff i do at home through a behringer mixer.....my question is;
Would it be an absolutely stupid idea to record into my mixer, send it into and record onto a descent stereo tape deck (just normal cassete style) and then send it back into the mixer to get a tape sort of sound?
i would try it myself but my stereo is in a different room, weighs a ton, and i'm guessing someone (probably everyone) will be able to point out a reason why i shouldnt even bother.
cheers
