recording the drums

okay i have 4 drum mics, where the hell should i put the mics at? also im runing the 4 mixes into a four channel mixer with a preamp bult in and runing the line out to the mixer to my computer on to this recording progrem call Magix, plz tell me if this is okay?

ummm i dunno the brand of mic but i know they are going for 100 bucks at guitar center for 4 drum mics

You prolly shouldnt even be buying these things as you have no idea what you are doing (its better to research and buy smart then to buy on impulse)...but anyways -
Usually 2 overheads, 1 on snare, 1 on kick...

A good place to start

A good place to start would be with an AKG D112 for the kick. A pair of AKG C430 (or somthing similar) for overheads, and a SM57 on the snare.

Placement is a different story.
