Hello Im new here and new to computer recording. Im hoping someone here can help. Im trying to record a song I wrote for the first time using my PC and recording software. My computer is an HP pavilion, a4316f, Aflon II Quad Core processor, 6GB DDR3 mem. 1 terabyte hard drive. OS is Windows 7 64 bit. Diamond xs 7.1 xtreme sound PCI card with Altec speaker system, mixcraft 5 recording software, asio driver.
Here's the problem: I plug the guitar into the mic input of the sound card, I can hear the raw guitar through the speakers, Then I load Mixcraft 5 and open my project, I select an audio track to record on, I arm the track selecting the mic input and re enter "arm" to add the monitor so I can hear what mixcraft hears, as soon as I do that I hear an echo when playing guitar. Then because the raw guitar is just that "raw" I want to add an amplifer which is in the fx tab (called shred amp), once added and adjusted I am ready to record however I can still hear the raw guitar along with the amplified guitar. I went into my BIOS and disabled the on board audio device but it did not work I still have the 2 guitar sounds. Any one know what I can do?
