Recording Sessions

Hello All,

I was wondering how everyone in here recorded their music. I am posting this in the Hip Hop section, because right now I am focusing on a hip hop project, but if you do other genres of music I am open to it as well.
For instance- Do you all record every track at the same time including vocals? Or do you record track by track then the vocals? Or do you record every track, tweak the tracks, then record vocals?
Just trying to get a few suggestions from the gurus in here.
I personally use to record the tracks individually, tweak them and then record vocals.

Well I depends on the gear you use to make your music and what your are using to record your tracks. I my self use my computer in conjuction with my Adat machine to record. My beats are recorded track by track. I Record them thru cakewalk then remixed in acid. Then I import them into cakewalk as seperate audio tracks. I tweak them so there easier on the ears while I'm recording the vocals (sort of a premix). Once that's done I track my vocals one by one. So in short I usually have the beat tracked before I do vocals and all my tracks are recorded one by one not all at the same time. If all your instruments are live then you would tracking them all at the same time could be the best route to go. If you don't have the equipment to pull that off then tracking them one by one is still a good way to get it done. (its would make the recording session longer though)
