Hello i've just got a euroback MXB 1002 mixer board for my garage. I've been working on recording my band directly to a crappy tape deck and then though the mic port on my laptop with nero onto my computer. I have cakewalk and some other recording programs i've found but what is the best way to record directly out of the mixer board into the computer? My sound cards crap but if i put the cablein the main out and turn every thing way down it usually sounds ok but any suggestions would be helpful
Since it's a laptop you'll probably want a usb or better yet firewire audio interface. M-audio has several interfaces that would work: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.list&ID=mobileinterfaces, or for recording multiple tracks at once and keeping them separate into your computer you might look into the Presonus Firepod (It's had great reviews and people seem to really like it).
