recording problem..

I have a MobilePreUSB ..which is connected to my studio monitors by 2 1/4s and 2 rcas and the microphone .. my voice is only coming through one speaker.. if I switch the 1/4 cords the voice switches from left 2 right.. but the music plays in both speakers.. how do I fix this.. it does it when Im not even in cubase
 
Well, I´m not sure I get the problem right but, the 1/4 jacks are stereo I guess, and thats two channels and the microphone is mono and therefore uses one of the channels in this case. This should only be an issue on playback cus when you´ve recorded (and I assume you do this in mono otherwise the problem would stay) and then play the result, it plays in both speakers right?
I´m tired and a bit tipsy so I might get the query all wrong...
 
Hey.. I took one of the 1/4 plugs out of the speaker and the mobilepre.. (which is the right 1/4) it still only plays in the left.. I recorded in mono and stereo still get the same problem... It plays audion in play in both but the recording is only in 1 head phone and 1 speaker(when both are plugged in) .. which is the left. it does the same out of the recording program too.
 
Starting to sound like a dodgy connection somwhere. Broken cable or such... I assume you have tried restarting your comp? Or perhaps the track you are recording on are panned to one side?
 
Dunno about the broken cable part I have tried other 1/4 cords. .. I restarted the computer and etc.. I will try the pan side thing but why does it do it when im not in a recording program.
 
hey this has worked before now I unplugged it and moved to a different house and it doesnt.. any ideas
