Is there any freeware with which I can cut MP3's up into partial tracks?

I have a CD with about 3 hours of telephone conversations recorded on it, in a single MP3 track. I'm wanting to cut it into separate messages.

Cdex will do partial tracks from music CD's, but I can't see any way to get part of an MP3...

Thanks.

ps - the time hasn't adjusted for daylight saving in NZ...

Do you have an audio editing program you use? What are the phone clips for?

Pro Tools free edition might allow to you import audio... I'm not sure though. www.digidesign.com

Welcome to the board :)

I've been told that I should convert it to a .wav then it should be fairly easy to chop it up, so I'll give that a try.

Turning it into a WAV file first is irelevant; any tool that will open an MP3 to edit won't care if it's been converted to WAV first.
