first off i would like to say hello to the homerecording community, im new here, my names chris. i got a problem and im hoping someone can help cause its bothering me.
i just got a motu ultralite mk3 hybrid. im trying to record from my dj mixer(pioneer djm 800) through the ins on the motu sound card into my adobe audition. right now im using rca's out of the mixer from either the rec or the main out to a single 1/4 connector to one of the ballance inputs. i hit record and start to play, it shows im recording but at a low volume, i messed with the master volume, the eqs, all of that, ive done recording before i know how to treat volume so u dont clip and what not. when i play back the recording it sounds muffled and as soon as the kick and bass hit, well they dont.. there gone and it makes everything else sound like crap/muffled/distorted.
is this because im running red/white rca to a single 1/4? or is this an issue with adobe audition somewhere in preferences? i have recorded with this mixer before, and with a diff sound card, but never had this problem.. only new things in the equation is im not using a seperate 1/4 - 1/4 for both the right and the left (cant find those cables ne where in my stash) and the new sound card.
im hoping someone here can tell me if its the cable issue and ill go buy 2 new 1/4 - 1/4 cables and record that way or if its something i can do here with what i got..
thanks for your time and effort, its much appreciated..
